Mom and Dad's Marriage Chapel
The East Window
Wedding Chapel West Window near Easter Sunday early morning Service of Light. Press for Religion.
James A. Green Jr. and Ruth Jane Mayfield were married on March 10, 1948 in the chapel of the First Presbyterian Church in Wichita, Kansas, where the Big Arkansas and Little Arkansas rivers join. The stain glass window shown here shows Christ arising from his grave at Easter time, approximately as the Spring (Vernal) Equinox (March 20, 2006, usually March 21) brings the Sun into due East position. Easter is ritualistically the first Sunday after the first Full Moon following the Vernal Equinox. On Easter Sunday, an Easter candle is lit in the position where marriage vows are said, and rays from the Sun shine through the window like solar rays through the Staff of Ra in Raiders of the Lost Arc as the 7:30 AM Service of Light proceeds on to the candle point, which is lit by the ministers. Thus the marriage vow site is illuminated through the lens-like window circlet approximately at the Spring Equinox by the mighty rays of the rising Sun when it is as East as East can be. In fact, since Easter occurs after the Vernal Equinox, the Sun seems to have moved "East" (North) of due East, hence "Easter". Similarly, the Sun sets "Wester". At equinox time the length of the day is equal to the length of the night, 12 hours, and the constellation Orion, with it's wing-robe straddling the celestial equator like an equals sign, is visible in the west, settling under the arc of the Winter Crescent at the position of the setting sun, seeming to face the cross of Corvus on the eastern horizon with head star Gienah Ghurab. As Corvus rolls over into a tombstone shape, we arrive at Memorial Day. Together with the cup of Crater, Corvus forms The Arc of the Covenant above Heaven's Gate at M83 in the rump of Hydra. Press for ZoomSchool.com on phases of the moon. First the moon waxes, then it wanes.Perhaps you'd better marry in 2008, since then Easter is on March 23, nearly as close to the Vernal Equinox on March 20,2008 as we ever find it. The staff of Ra effect may be especially strong then, as the Moon is full on March 21, 2008. Note that on Palm Sunday the crucifying Fall-of-Aristarchus/Christ part of the lunar drama is not visible because the moon is not quite full, and what is seen is the initial Hosannas in the Highest portion of the initial corresponding lunar mythology. See the phases of the April Moon and the large photo set of phases of the moon and the period of the moon's orbit. There are 12.368266 = 365.242199/29.53059 lunar phase cycles in a year. See detailed motions of the moon in my file Rock Me Gently, featuring the song by Andy Kim.
